Dires for Development Charitable Association is an Ethiopian NGO with its own management and board. The organization is led by a board that consists completely out of people who have a disability. Also, the general manager and his admin worker have a disability themselves. Including as many people with a disability as we can, is a central part of our policy.
We strive to a small overhead as possible. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic we had to downsize our organization and we have chosen to cut in the management layers. We have one general manager who supervises all projects. The projects are led by the professionals who are involved themselves. Together, they take responsibility for the daily execution of the work.
The Long Trail
A social enterprise based in The Netherlands specialized in Community Based Tourism and Social Community Development. The organization is founded in 2020, but through several predecessors they have been active in Ethiopia since 2013. The founder of The Long Trail has Deaf parents himself and is very much involved with this target group.
